Are You Going Nose Blind? A common myth is people thinking their fragrances don’t last. While I know there certainly is bad quality fragrances out there.
When you’re wearing a fragrance, your brain & nose will block out any smell that is overpowering. To make you able to smell other things.
This why you won’t be able to smell your fragrances after many hours of wearing it, but other people around you can still smell it.
If you want to test a fragrances longevity, spray on one place on your body (like wrist) and no where else. Keep going back to it every hour or so, until it disappears.
Then, spray the fragrance on a test strip or a piece of paper. Smell it once a day and see how long it last.
Do the same with spraying on a piece of clothing! As fabric holds a fragrance better than anything.
Everyone has different skin chemistry, some people have dry skin. Which will absorb the fragrance much faster and the scent will disappear. And people with oily skin will hold the fragrance much longer.
I would advise to always make sure your skin is moisturised before applying a fragrance.
Preferably with an unscented lotion to make sure it doesn’t interfere with the fragrance your wearing.
